5.1   P-06-1361 Protect agency workers in the NHS

The Committee considered the petition and agreed to write back to the Minister and ask if any changes could be made to the code of practice to better protect agency staff.

 

 

In writing to the Minister the Committee agreed that it would close the petition, thank the petitioner and also direct the petitioner to contact the Ombudsman, NHS complaints system and their local Senedd Members to raise this issue.

5.2   P-06-1371 Re-open the railway stop in Nant-y-Derry Goytre Fawr to include us in the South Wales Metro

The Committee considered the petition and agreed to write to the UK Government to highlight the petition and ask if there’s anything further that can be done from the perspective of the UK Government. In writing to the UK Government, the Committee agreed to thank the petitioner and close the petition.

5.3   P-06-1372 Save our fflecsi bwcabus service

The Committee discussed the petition when considering the evidence session relating to the other transport petitions. Members agreed to include this petition as part of a plan for a wider round table discussion with the bus industry to look at public transport and local bus services.

5.4   P-06-1374 Bring Wales in line with England by allowing landowners 60 days tent and campervan camping a year

The Committee considered the petition and agreed to write back to the Minister to ask the further questions raised by the petitioner including when the outcome of the consultation on permitted development will be published.

5.5   P-06-1376 Welsh Government to stop basic income pilot payments to unaccompanied asylum-seekers

The Committee considered the petition and concluded that Members have already made their views clear on the issue of Universal Basic Income in their report A UBI Pilot for Wales. The Committee therefore agreed that there was no further action to be taken closed the petition.

6.1   P-06-1184 Immediately ban the use of toxic lead in all ammunition in Wales... lead is killing our wildlife!

Joel James MS declared the following relevant interest under Standing Order 17.24A:

The Committee considered the petition and noted the consultation which has taken place on lead in ammunition under the UK Reach process. It agreed to await the conclusion of the further consultation on the draft socioeconomic analysis before taking any further action.

6.2   P-06-1209 Create a national list of all unpaid carers in Wales

The Committee considered the petition and agreed to write back to the Deputy Minister in order to seek clarification about the statement about verifying the status of unpaid carers.

6.3   P-06-1337 Sycharth, the home of Owain Glyndwr, should be bought to safeguard the site for future generations

The Committee considered the petition and expressed their disappointment in the response from Powys County Council to the Committee’s letter requesting directional signage to the site. Members concluded however that there was nothing further the Committee could do and agreed to thank the petitioner for submitting the petitioner and close the petition.

 

In closing the petition the Committee also agreed that it would write back to Powys County Council to express their disappointment and frustration at the response received.

The Committee discussed the evidence heard and agreed that it would hold a one-day round table discussion in the new year with relevant stakeholders regarding bus services.
